Kids Bop

Okay, we have some news for you that we are totally pissed off about. Kids Bop 8 has Blvd. Of Broken Dreams on their CD. One of us has e-mailed them on our private e-mail accounts, and they still have to e-mail us back. It's been about two weeks. So my question is to the public--did they get Billie Joe's permission? Because he is the song writer, and that song has what people these days consider "cursing" (We think nobody has heard of the 1st amendment here in the U.S. FREEDOM OF SPEECH, but that is irrelevant.) in it, and that is "not proper" to put on a children's CD, therefore they have to change the words, which would then cause in altering someone's making. (What a wonderful one it was.) So, he could sue if they didn't get his permission. So please e-mail them at info@kidzbop.com because they really make me mad doing this, as they should make you mad! They ruin songs not make them better, and that is an insult to us Green Day fans!! Thank-you for your love and support.

News For Your Desperate Minds

Sorry we haven't updated in a while, we are REALLY sorry! So, in return for our poor excuses for not updating this site, we have some news for you.
*Green Day's first tour bus was a old bookmobile. People would come in asking to buy books all the time. Once an old lady came in and she walked in on Billie Joe, Tre, and Mike stoned and was like "oh my" and left.
*The "Redundant" video has the same scenes playing behind the band over and over, hence the name "Redundant".*Weird Al Yankovic covered Basketcase in his song "Alternative Polka" which is on his album titled Bad Hair Day.*The Kerplunk song J.A.R. is in memory of a man who died in a car crah named Jason Relva. *Billie Joe's favorite foods are vegetarian lasagana, and his favorite drink is root bear. *GREEN DAY HISTORY-Ernie from Seaseme Street once said the phrase "green day" in one of the shows. The guys thought it was funny because they were all stoned at the time. So it became an inside joke that a "green day" was a pot-filled day and then they came up with the the song "Green Day" and Al Sobrante wrote "Green Day" on the back of his jacket and it just stuck on from there. So thank you Seaseme Street for giving Green Day that inspiration and we hate you for trying to sue them.

New Video Info : When September Ends

The new video , When September Ends, is being awaited by many adoring Green Day fans. As you might've been noticing, GD's videos are following a story just like the songs in the album do. Shot in Los Angeles, When September Ends is the fourth video produced by GD for their album American Idiot.
Many people think of this album as a reminder of 9/11 or maybe even about headman Billie Joe's personal life. His father had past away and this song could reflect him.

Facts

*The first time Tre saw himself on T.V., he trashed his hotel room. That is such a shocker! I wonder why, well I'm just not going to ask, like the Bullwinkle thing(100 percent Green Day on Fuse) I'm not gonna ask, just like Billie-joe(again, 100 percent Green Day on Fuse.)
*Dookie was originially going to be called "Liquid Dookie", but some band members decided that would be to gross.
*Billie and Mike both suffer from panic attacks, and they are both vegetarians.
*The song "409 In Your Coffemaker" is about an experience where Billie-joe put 409 in his teacher's coffemaker.
*The cover art for Insomniac was done by a man named Winston Smith. Winston stayed up for several days to finish it, and when Billie asked him how he did it, he responded "It's easy. I'm an insomniac." Insomniac also got its name because Billie's son Joey kept him awake at night.
*Billie-Joe's mother misspelled his name on his birth certificate because she was high off the drugs given to her during pregnancy.
*Upon looking in the booklet that came with the Nimrod CD you will see that some of the lyrics were scratched out,although common belief that this is not just an artistic design actual lyrics were taken out of the songs.
*Tre loves to golf.
*Billie-Joe and lucky wife Adrienne spent their honeymoon at the Claremont Hotel in Berkley.
*The song "Pasalacqua" is an actual place,a funeral home in Rodeo, California.
*The hidden track on Dookie is called "All By Myself",Tre Cool sings it. It was recorded at a party, which is why you hear people talking in the background.

*There used to be a picture of Ernie from Sesame Street on the back of Dookie; but than the band got sued.
*Billie Joe's favorite book is Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger, which he refused to read it in high school, but later on ended up reading it and liking it, as the main character was an outcast. This is where the song "Who Wrote Holden Caufield" comes from.
*In Berkley, California there is a corner of Telegraph Avenue and Stuart St.which is how the song "Stuart and the Ave." got its name.
*Rancid, New Found Glory, Blink 182, NOFX, The Donnas, Weezer, Unwritten Law, Sum 41, MxPx, Reel Big Fish and Good Charlotte all thank Green Day in their CDs.

Billie-Joe tends to have a controlling nature, but that nature threatened to tear the band apart! Tre and Mike eventually ran out of patience with BJ when he wasn't taking their opinions seriousley. Than he had a rather heated conversation with Mike and he accepted that he needed to change tact to keep Green Day going. Dirnt says, "Billie called me and said, 'Do you wanna do this any more?,' I said, 'Yes, but you got to let us in. We're not like, staff. You're the president but we're the cabinet and you've gotta consult us.'" BJ says, "It was stuff like Tre telling me WELCOME TO PARADISE was a shitty song, and me getting pissed when they made fun of me." I still like "Welcome To Paradise."

INTERVIEWS

In an interview Billie-Joe said that his source of inspiration for mapping out the band's plan for world domination was a rapper! The rapper's name you ask? Tupac Shakur! Shakur is also from their hometown in California! So Green Day set out to break all the rules in rock 'n' roll! Billie-Joe says, "Tupac Shakur grew up in Oakland, too. Whatever you think of him, you don't feel he was contained by rules. With rock, you feel there are codes of conduct and codes of cool but with Tupac he just came right out with it. I admire that. Music needs that. And that's what I wanted for Green Day."

Family:Mike,like I said before,was adopted, and his adoptive parents got a divorce when he was six years old. They are now both remarried. Mike has at least one step-sister named Myla, unknown if he has anymore.
